Just a quesion. Migrating a Database from Server A to Server B.

The task is the same at the beginning. Full backup on A, restore on B with no recovery. Now i am trying to sync the t-log.

Do you see any difference between these 2 approaches.

1. Set the database on A to Read Only, Backup T-Log on A, restore T-Log on B
-- OR --
2. Backup "Tail" of T-log on A and restore to B

Thoughts?

I think that the important thing is to set the database on server A in read-only mode before you take the final backup. The final backup could be a full backup (the easiest way), a differential backup or a transaction log backup.
