Backup problems - TAPE IS PROTECTED BY MEDIA MANAGMENT

Hi,
I have 2 problem concerning of backup.
Soft.: Brightstor ARCserve Backup r11.1
OS: Wserver2003
Problems:
1.
I'm not able to delete any type.
error message isTAPE IS PROTECTED BY MEDIA MANAGMENT)
2.
When I launch the application It runs without problem,
but if I want to click on (job status,restore, backup, ...)
everything go very slowly.
If the DB is off everything runs quite fast.I think that the DB is corrupt but I dont know how it repair...
I've tried to initialize DB but unsuccessfully(Failed to initialize DB).

Can you help me where can be the problem and how it solve?

install ARCserve on any other system
stop all the ARCserve services
close the manager
delete the contents of the ARCserve Backup\DATABASE directory
with the contents of the DATABASE subdirectory on the new install

I have already solved the problem, thank you for your answer.The problem was corrupt database like you decribed.
