backup problem

Hi all,

I have a dds3 12/24gb tape drive. I am taking backup of sap database on this drive. In ssap backup parameter file i specified the tape size as 12000M. But after backing up 11GB(11000M) of data, backup terminates automatically.

Any suggestions???????????????/

We need more info.

does it just end and the tape comes out?
does the backup have a message at the end of it?
have you tryed to read the backup tape to see what is on the tape and how much it really backup?

maybe you only have 11g of info that needs backup.

what backup command are you using ?

please give more info.

Hi,

I solved the problem, initially the tape blocaksize was 1024. Now i changed it to 0 (variable length). Now my backup is going on perfectly.
