Problem with backups on Partner Mail system version 5. I try to do the back up and keep getting error code 2. Anyone know what "error code 2" is.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the "2" signifies, but check to make sure that a good PC card is installed in front of the voicemail module.

I was going to do a backup and then actually replace that card.

I'm not clear on what was being done.

The PC card needs to be installed in order for a backup to be done. If you are trying to backup to a replacement card, the card may be defective, not seated correctly or the card may not be correct for the Partner Mail VS R5.0

The original card was defective and I wanted to try to do a backup with it before I removed it and inserted the new card.

Assuming that the 2 cards are identical, (check the printing on the replacement card to make sure it is the same as the old card) I wonder if the new card is defective. [ponder] Defective stock is sometimes sold as "like new" on ebay.

It's been a while since I looked at a PC card, but isn't there a write protect tab on the back edge of the card to prevent overwriting? If there is one, is it in the "protect" position?

If the replacement card is identical to the old card, it is seated properly and not write protected, I'd hazard a guess that the card might be bad.
