Hello-

I've been backing up our SAS server from my XP Workstation using the built-in "Backup" utility and a COmpaq 110/220 SDLT Tape drive by mapping a drive to the data directory on the server, etc.
Perfoemance has been excellent for a long time. My normal backup would run 3-4 hours over night. Recently, the time to complete has jumped to well over 24 hours and I'm trying hard to figure out how this could be. General network performance seems fine, the amount of data hasn't changed much, I re-imaged my XP workstation just to be sure...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

From what you have posted it sounds like your network/dns might have changed somewhere. FTP a file from your NetBackup server to the client and check the speed, then FTP the file from the client to the NetBackup server. If the speeds are slow there, you definetly have a network issue.

Sorry, didn't mean a NetBackup server, just the server you backup from.
