Hi Guys i have a unique problem and i hope someone could help me.

I have 2 WAN links connected to my router, one of the links is the main and the other is the redundancy/backup link. This link is hardly ever used unless the primary fails. I would like to route traffic from that location to another via that link.

eg 10.40.120.5 to backup to 10.40.101.20 via link on interface fa0/3/0

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi North323,

thanks for the update i managed to get it working.

1) I have a server 10.40.120.20 at the local site that I want to backup to a remote site 10.40.101.20
2) I want to route that traffic over the secondary link fa0/3/0 or 10.200.5.45
3) Then i applied the policy on the local LAN interface

ip access-list extended 150
permit ip 10.40.120.20 0.0.0.0 10.40.101.20 0.0.0.0

route-map PBR permit 10
match ip address 150
set ip next-hop 10.200.5.45 --> IP address on interface of other Router
or
set interface fastethernet 0/3/0 --> WAN interface on local router

interface fastethernet 0/0.165
ip policy route-map PBR
