I have server Unix with Legato 6.03 and client AIX with Legato 6.03.
The automatic backup fail with this error:" Inactivity timeout for 30 min.."
I have set 2 retry but nothing changes.
When i restarts the backup, it fails
When i start another time the backup is ok

Inactivity timeout specifies the number of minutes allowed before the server assumes the client is permanently hung. In your particular situation, the server thinks client is idle since it is not sending any data to the backup device
(absence of an appendable tape in the drive/buisy drives, etc) .
What you can do to stop the group from timing out is to set the inactivity timeout to zero, meaning, inactivity timeout is disable. Please note, that if timeout is disabled the save group will not be terminated; you'll have to
manually kill the save group. An alternative, if you prefer, is to set the inactivity timeout to a higher value, if what you are looking for is ample time to load tape in the drive for backups to continue.

I should try to find out whats wrong first. If it is working occasionally you probably have some hardware trouble. Check out NICs, switchports and Cables.
