When we refer to the Backup in Novell, we generally do two types of backup:-

1. Filesystem Backup
2.NDS Backup

None of the above backups is complete in the sense that there is no means by which a simple restoration of the above backups will lead to normal startup as the rights/trustees are not backed up.

Is there any way that we can backup the rights (filesystem and nds) of all the users ?

Any body having idea about the same ?

Thanks In Advance

Arcserve backs up trustee information and rights, don't know what backup software you are using but most do.

You could also look at the TBACKUP utility:

"It's true, its damn true!"

Veritas Backup Exec does the same thing, both file system and NDS rights are backed up. In fact last weekend I just changed out a server and restored all information (to include the NDS) with Backup Exec. Started the restore job and left it run. Checked back on it and my server was up 100% ready for my users on Monday.

*end users are just like computers, some you can work with...others just need a simple reBOOTing to fix their problems.*

Here I am referring to the native SBACKUP utility for backup.
