I'm using Lotus NOtes R5, I've been backing up my database usuing flat file copy to tape, this seemed to have been working fine until I had to restore a doc, it looks like the doc is a lot older then the backup, I think this is b/c I'm not using an agent to back up LN, does anyone use Veritas agents to back up LN, if so how does it work for the open files?

Thanks 01110000

Yes I use the Veritas Notes agent, and it seems backs up open files OK! I've successfully restored a persons mail file from a tape using Backup Exec, and have also rebuilt my Notes server using the IDR option. I would highly recommend both options. I only use Notes 4.6 for mail and calendaring, but have plans to move up to V5 soon, but don't anticipate any problems. If you're unsure how it will handle other Notes docs, ring Veritas Technical support.

Go to the bottom of the support homepage and click the Contact Support link, choose your version of Backup Exec, and you will find a contact number. You can setup a support contract or I think you can pay per incident (credit card).

It may be a good idea to test the agent and the IDR on a test machine first though.

If you want more info let me know, and best of luck.
