Following our migration to Exchange 2000 I am experiencing ever longer backup times for the D: drive on my exchange server. My Brick Level backup using the Exchange agent runs great.

Currently it is taking in excess of 23 hours to back up the D: drive. The log shows that it is backing up 783 directories, 2,327,757 files and 9623.04 MB with an elapsed time of 23h 30m 59s at a throughput of 11.27 MB/min. This seems an inordinate amount of time since the remaining servers complete full backup in about 5h 13m.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled ARCServe, the Client Agent and the Exchange Agent. Have modified the registry:
Hkey-local-machine\software\computerassociates\Arcserve\ client agent\parameters:
1. change decimal value for Maxsendpacketsize to 8192
2. change decimal value for RecDaemonbuffercount to 800
3. change decimal value for Receivetimeout to 4800
4. change decimal value for sendtimeout to 4800
5. change decimal value for setwsrecdbuffersize to 64
6. change decimal value for setwssendbuffersize to 64
7. change decimal value for setwstcpnodelay to 8
Selected configuration and set the backup priority to high and stopped/restarted the client agent service.

All these actions have reduced my backup time by 35 minutes and increased my throughput from 9.81 MB/min to its current value.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so have you found a solution? CA Tech Support is marginal, at best, and has been of little help so far.
