We have SQL Server 2000 on our server and i added the databases maintenance plan for backup of the databases. However, when i checked the path for the databases backup i noticed that the databases backup is not being performed at all.

Can someone throw some light on what could be the problem?

Isha,

did you set them up using the wizard? If so, is the job showing under SQL Server Agent / Jobs in Enterprise Manager. did you actually set a schedule for the job, if so what directory did you choose or did you leave it as default backup directory.

If the job is showing, firstly did it run or show as failed? If the job shows up, right click on it and look at job history - anything strange in there? Also check the SQL logs as it will record in there that the job has worked / failed etc.

Cheers,

M.
