Hi All

I'm a newbie to backup-exec. We use 9.1 on a W2K server.
I have several other servers that I want to backup, most are working OK.
The ones I have a problem with are not in the same domain as the media server, they're in a separate workgroup, and they are across a firewall.
I have several problems:
1. The non-domain servers don't appear in the server list on the selections screen. I understand I should use user-defined selections to add them manually, is there a better way of doing this? This way I have to manually type in each share name that I want to backup instead of picking from a list. "system state" as a backup destiantion doesn't work, as it tries to look for a share with that name.
2. As they are non-domain, they don't have matching logon details, so my default backup account gets access denied. Veritas web support say create a login on the remote computers and use those details, which I have done, but I keep getting access denied.
3. I bought the SQL server agent, which is to backup one of these remote servers. The installation suggested I install it as a logal option, I'm thinking this was wrong, it should have been a remote option. Now the SQL agent doesn't appear as a remote install option.
It seems that a lot of technical advice on the CD documentation and their website is either full of holes or lots of it is conflicting information. Extremely frustrating.
If anyone could give me any pointers to any of these problems, It would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Andy Cole.
