hello,
I have a question about whether the name of the callpilot back up can be fixed to the same name every backup. The reason for this is that we are backing up to a network location. but the name is made up of the following
<IPESystemBackup CALLPIL ><DATE> <TIME>.dat
so IPESystemBackup CALLPIL 100812 2030.dat is an example. while it is useful to see the date on the file name it means that they never overwrite them and at 4GB a time it is taking up quite a bit of space. At the moment I'm about to write a script to delete them ever so often but this seems like it's not the right thing to do. Before I do this does anyone have any ideas thoughts etc?
Many thanks

I do the same with CCM, and do go in and delete B/U every so often. I would not want to overwrite a BU because coruption can be just as easily backed up as a good file, then you have nothing to restore with.

We back up to a particular location on the network, and we have a batch file that automatically runs before the next backup that delete's the old backup. In between, the backup is copied to tape for retention.
