Hi all,

I have two questions:
SITREP:
W2K File Server A and W2k with Exchange Server B
Backup Excec 8.0 with ERD on A and Exchange agent on B
When I make a full backup off A, I can rebuild the whole server A.
When I make an Exchange Agent “full backup” I only get the exchange part and not the total server.
1_So is it not better to make two full backups and don’t use the agent?

2_If I make a full backup off an exchange server (without an exchange agent) will it backup my exchange part to or do I still need an exchange agent. Or do I need to stop the exchange service, like SQL. If so who has the scripts to do this?

Greetings Ruud
(My goal is: Restore any system with a tape and a ERD floppy)

I think that you need to install a Remote Agent for W2k on your Exchange server in orde to do a full backup.
I don't know if you can do a full backup with Exchange in it with this option. I think probably not, but I'm not sure.

No you can,t do a backup of exchange without the exchange agent... the server will be grayed out if trying to select it...
