Good morning.

Anyone have you experimented this?

its a NPX deployment with Tape backup unit.

installation is done as usual, but when entering the sysadmin, got
"system status" "system settings" but no "backup manager".

the tape unit is a HP USD DAT160 and its detected on the windows 2003 server OS.

may be that i omitted any option enabling the backup manager, but i made the installation again from zero and got the same.

any hints?

Thanks

would ask nice to check v2c license file and to see if backup is licensed. also when you login does it show archiving in system status tab/

hi just had a thought. under configuration storage/rules backup settings is use backup device set to yes? click save and apply if not.

Hello nice12345

Issue is solved, by far, with the most single solution.
In the system configuration, backup was not selected, until this change is not made and applied the backup management tab will simply not show. (So, its normal that this tab is not visible on a fresh installed system)

we thought also it could be a license issue, but as we could check there is no backup device detail on a NPX license, it just give details about how many channels are licensed.

curious facts

we opened a case with Nice and it took more than a month talking about licenses, tape devices compatibility, errors in the installation, examining logs, etc... a complete mess (we even had to reinstall from OS)
it was unsolved up to this moment by the nice boys.

glad the enable backup worked for you. NICE support is good but it is hard to always see what customer is doing and not all installations are same.
