Hi all... I have a backup job just sending a single Veeam image to tape.

I would imagine that because it was a single file, it would be quite fast.

AS the subject states, the job starts OK, but ends up going at a snail pace. It takes around 2hrs for the job to hit rock bottom, and I cant work out why. So far ive tried upgrading the firmware on the drive.

Its a 450Gb file, so its a decent size.... The NIC between the boxes is running at around 14-18%, CPU and RAM are no problem. And other Exchange/SQL backup runs at 1.8Gb/Min.

The driver is a HP LTO4 external SCSI.

is this kind of performance expected?

Thanks,
Dekkar

forgot to mention that the job (420Gb) takes 6h 30m to complete.
