Backup Job Missing after abnormal shutdown

This system is AS 2k AE Version 7 build 1100

My client had a power failure last week. The ArcServe server was on a UPS and shut down normally, however the DLT drive shut down when the ups went down. Now the backup job I was running is gone from the job status manager window. I tried to create a new job, but the system will not let me use the current media pool, but rather wants me to delete the media pool. I'd rather not lose the database and have to merge tapes when they need to do a restore. I tried to restore the database from the day before the power failure, but the job was not there. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me on this subject.
