What is the procedure for backing up all the data in the hard drive, so that all programs, icons, settings, and information can be transfered to a new hard drive that, when installed, will be a mirror image of my present hard drive? In other words, I would like to begin with a new hard drive that will replicate everything in the one I am now using. Thank you.

You can use Norton "Ghost", or Acronis "True Image" for back-up images. However, to transfer from hard drive to hard drive, most new drives come with a "cloning" program made to copy to the new drive.

Norton ghost! so easy and so good Ive never had a problem with it. I would rank it in the top 5 best time saving programs on the planet!!
