Two days in a row my backup on 10.0 has been frozen. The last two days I have also received notices that database maintenance had started at 3am (during the backup) and also a completion notification one second later. I've never received these messages before and don't know why these maintenance jobs are running.

Yesterday I cancelled the backup job but then had to shut down the BE services in order to completely abort it. I had hoped it was a one-time thing, but the same thing happened today.

So far, I am just letting it run. The byte counter has not changed since this morning, and the job has been running over 13 hours (usually done in six hours or less).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have the same problem intermittantly on v10.1. Veritas support was no help at all when I asked them about it.
Just a data point.

Are there any alerts prompting for something? Anything in the application log? Turn of the maintenance in tools - option - database maintenance

I have not received any prompts, and the application log isnot giving me any clues. The odd thing is that the maintenance is starting at 3am, but is scheduled to start at 4am per the maintenance in tools/option/database maintenance.

Time change daylight savings time. Run a repair on the backup exec database
