Hi, I currently work for a company that is in desparate needs of a backup for their fileserver. The server is running Linux Red hat 7.2. I've done extensive research and have been in the Linux server forum already.

Basically, what it comes done to is that I'm not a linux expert and niether is anyone else at work. Someone else used to admin it. I know only enough to move around and do basics. NOt enough to go an bring done the server to install a tape drive and backup software.

There is only about 5 gig of data to backup and it was recommended as not a horrible idea to use one of the windows networked stations to the backup at night, Now I need aquick suggestion on hardware and software to use. Any ideas. Very urgent.

Thanks a million ahead of time.

If it's a Win2k station then it would be worth testing if it will read the Linux vol as Win2k backup is capable of backing up remote syatems and data. (Caution i don't think it will back up open files)
