What's the idea of these backup files being so prominent? Shouldn't they be hidden with the ability to see them provided? I haven't got many CorelDraw files yet but I can imagine once I get started and I start building up a few files it's going to look a right mess if every file has got a backup file. I'm going to be spending half my time trying to find a file.

I haven't tried but if you go to tools/options/workspace/save it gives you the option of selecting a specific folder for your backups.

Thanks Cobrien11 but I've tried it and it doesn't work. I went to Tools/Options/Workspace/Save and clicked on 'Always backup to' and left it at the default setting where it sent them to, then deleted the backup file in my documents folder, made an alteration in the file and saved it. But then, there was that old backup file, back again in my documents folder and not where I thought I'd asked it to go.

This is a very annoying problem, surely every CorelDraw user out there can't be just putting up with it ..... there's got to be an answer other than asking CD not to make a backup.

I just turn off all autosave and backup features and do my own saving and backing up. I have learned the hard way about backing up in other programs that don't backup. When ever I make a major adjustment I hit the save button. I also save to a number version so I have another file to go to incase of a crash. file.cdr, file1.cdr..etc. That is what the backup does anyway so just control it yourself.

Oh, if that's all it's doing I'll turn it off aswell. I'm the same as you, always saving every five minutes or so anyway.

Thank you, that's solved that little annoying problem.
