Backup Failure

I am veryfing the media device through Backup Manager and this is the error:
General failure occured in processing the request. Error ocurred reading or writting the backup file. Process terminated with exist status 2 cpio: this is not a cpio file, bad header.
Any suggestion ?

The error message indicates that it can't find the start of the backup or the information on the tape is not in cpio format. Do you rewind the tape before backing up the data? I would retentention the tape try a backup, then rewind the tape and see if the backup succeded.
