Hello,

We have a backup filing with the below error message:

error: <SEVERE> : Unable to execute savefs job on host wmsag1p: Authentication error; why = Invalid client credential

Environment Details:
We are using 7.6.3 Server version. OS is Windows 2003 SP2. Failing clients OS are various but all UNIX.
meanwhile i will also research

All the clients that are failing are running Unix...can you please loook into this

If the client listener has not been started, do it now (/etc/init.d/networker start). It must be up and running.
The NW client daemon (nsrexecd) uses ports 7937 & 7938. These two ports cannot be changed. So make sure that they are not blocked by a firewall.
You can check this by running "nsradmin -p nsrexec -s <client>" from the NW server. If you receive aprompt, all will be fine. Enter "q" to exit.

If Linux, make sure SELinux is not active or you opened a gate to ensure communication.

add the root uswer with its password to the Unix clients Remote user attribute.
With a Windows server the credentials passed to a client is "SYSTEM" but you need "root".
