I upgraded my servers from NT Server 4.0 running Enterprise Backup Exec 7.0 to Server 2000. All my backups have failed on verify since the upgrade. Could this be a version issue, or is Active Directory to blame? Help!

There is a message at the beginning of the log file saying- Agent Accelerator not present-performing standard backup.

i believe you need to upgrade to backup exec version 8.5 anything less is no longer supported for windows 2000.
