Hi All,
We are using "Veritas Backup Exec for windows server Version 9.1 Revision 4691" installed on win2003.
Backup exec client is Installed on solaris machine which is running solaris 5.9, named "SOLARIS01".
Backup process fails for this machine atleast once or twice in a week with message "Completed status: Canceled, timed out" on other days the backup successfully completes with approximately 6 GB of data is backed up in only 4 minutes but on other days when the backup fails it takes 4 hours to just backup 6 GB and then timeout.
Backup - SOLARIS01/root The media operation was terminated by the user.
Error reading file data.

Start time : 22 September 2006 03:58:14
End time : 22 September 2006 08:00:12
Files : 28,511
Directories : 585Skipped
files : 0
Corrupt files : 0
Files in use : 0
Byte count : 5,805,509,170 bytes
Rate : 22.00 MB/Min
I am not sure whether the backup failed or succeded as it seems that the veritas was able to write 5.8 GB of data but unfortunately it took 4 hours to do so..
Also we have set the "Enable Automatic Cancellation" to 10 hours.
Solaris is not showing any errors in its log file..
Someone please guide me what should I do to make the 5.8 GB of data to be written faster.
The backup of other machines are successful.
Thanks
Sunil D'Souza
