We're using 9.1 and the backups on this server have been pretty reliable. Recently data was added to the server requiring a second tape be used for backups. When I arrive in the morning the first tape is ejected so I remove it and put in a second tape. Ever since the backups have failed. It starts to write to the second tape and then comes up with an error that there were multiple errors with the backup.
We had a few tapes degaused for use as the second tape and that seems to be working so far (2 successful backups). Was the problem overwriting data on the second tape or is there something else to look at in this instance? My concern is that the failures will start up again.
