backup failing

i'm new to backup exec. I was wondering what certain files are skipping/failing to backup and what it means. here's the log file. any suggestions appreciated.

Hardware compression enabled.

Depending on the version of BE being used, there is a setting to skip open files. This is probably what you are seeing (the files are in use and therefore BE will not back them up). Make sure your users close their applications and log out at the end of the day and that you run the backup program during "off" hours to maximize the amount of data backed up when the job runs. (In BE 8.5, Options, Backup, the options for processing open files can be selected. Generally it is best to NOT process open files as this may cause problems when restoring).
 
I noticed that there are alot of database files that the backup is skipping - probably because they are open. Windows databases such as the DHCP database are typically jet databases, unfortunatley the is no agent for jet databases so you will have to rely on the Open File Option to back them up - but I have never seen a sucessful restore of a jet database that was backed up using OFO.

Your semaphore timeout period is another issue altogether.
