Hi all,
I am new to that list and I have a question which
could not be answered by the German tech support.
I run ArcServe 2000 Advanced Edition (english, SP3
plus all post sp3 fixes) including Disaster Recovery
Option (also all fixes installed) to backup three
different servers (two WinNT4 servers plus a w2k
server (sp2). In order to create Disaster Recovery
Boot Disk sets, I need to do a full offline backup
first. Therefore I installed the WinNT/2k Client
(english, build 1046) on the second NT4 and the W2K
server and added them to the backup tree. I have no
problems doing a full backup of the NT4 servers, but
I cannot succeed in doing a full backup of the W2K
server (domain controller). I get a arcserve client
error ("Cannot get data from client, EC=10054" while
trying to backup the D: drive. I also get 4 warnings
while trying to backup ntuser.dat(.log) and userclass.dat(.log) on C:
I stopped all non-system services prior to backup
and nobody else is logged on to the W2K server
console (though some domain users are logged in).
Any idea of what to do? I need to create an
arcserve boot kit for that server. German tech support
told me that just backing up the system state and
registry would allow me to do so. I did that successfully,
but I still cannot create a boot kit. Do I need to
stop system services of the domain controller (there's
DHCP and DNS running among others)?
I am out of ideas and I desperately need your ideas and
help.
Thank you in advance,
