Anyone ever here of Backup Express by Sync Sort? We are looking at that for our Enterprise Backup Software solution. Any help would be great thanks....

i have talked with some of their reps. it looks pretty promising but it is fairly expensive. We are evaluating a few different products to replace Arcserve 2000.

Thanks,,,we have sent out our RFPs regarding software so we will see what everyone gets back with. From what they reps expressed to us it appears most of Arcserves addons are included in their price, but we will see!

When we bought Arcserve it was fairly cheap (somewhere around the $15,000 range) but it was a horrible product. We have such a diverse computing environment out here that Arcserve just couldn't handle it. We are looking for something that is better suited to a enterprise computing environment. Galaxy, BackupExpress, Veritas and BrightStor (Arcserve 9) are all being tested/considered.

I know Syncosrt Backup Express. I work for Snap Appliance and we ship BEX integrated into our server.

It is fairly easy to use and pretty robust. It is supposed to be the "fastest" backup solution.

Syncsort supports a wide number of Tape Devices.

I test the SNAP Appliance Guardian servers with all of the major Backup Packages and Backup Express, to me, is pretty easy. The UI is not the most pretty, it is outdated, but it works. And Syncosrt tells me they are working on new UI.
