backup exex for sbs

We have a dell 2500 server computer system (with a powervault t100 dds4 tapebackup) using windows nt small business server.

Can we use backup exex version 7.0 for nt? or do we need a backup exex version for small business server specifically?

The Veritas website seems to show compatibility with the drive, but we have had trouble installing.

Also, we had an offer to purchase back up exex version 8.0 but the seller didn't have the Keycode. Anyway to legally get the key code for this product?

That is 2 issues:

Yes you can use BE 7.0. If you upgrade to 2000 Server you'll have trouble, but it works fine.

If your reseller will sell you BE8 with no keycode I would question why. Is it a legal copy? Check with BE Sales. I would be very inclined to change reseller!

BE 6.11 works very nicely under NT, but you need 7.x to run the fun add ons like Exchange option.
