Periodically I receive the following error...

Faulting application bengine.exe, version 9.1.4691.49, faulting module bengine.exe, version 9.1.4691.49, fault address 0x000aaa269.

I am running Backup Exec on Windows 2003 Server w/ Exchange 2003. When I see the error appear I can either close or debug. No matter which one I choose I have to restart the Backup Exec Service Manager. Has anyone ever run into this problem? Thanks in advance!

What version of Backup Exec do you run?, I remember we had to upgrade to Backup Exec 9.1 when we migrated from exchange 5.5 to 2003.

they are running ver 9.1

Define periodically.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

It has happened several weeks ago. I rebooted the Exchange server at night and then all of a sudden I received this error yesterday.

You're kidding? It happened only once before? Forget about it. You are running Windows you know. If it happened every day or so, its worth looking at.

OK, It just seemed odd that all of a sudden it happened. I mean a couple of weeks ago it happened for three straight days until we rebooted. Thanks for your replies!

I've had the same problem at a few customer sites. There seems to be no particular reason for the problem but the service stops during a backup job (which causes that job and any subsequent jobs to fail) and it's very intermittent. I've enabled debugging and will post the results but I was hoping someone else may have already found a solution.
