Backup Exec Notifications

Hi,

I'm trying to get backup exec 11 to send a notification email when the backup job completes.

I've setup the SMTP details and a recipient, when I run a test the email is sent and arrives ok.

However when I run the job the email doesn't seem to be sent.There's no trace of it even hitting our exchange server.

I've enabled alerts on the job complete category and also added a recipient to the jobs notification list.

The backup servers ip address is also in the allow relay list on the exchange server. I just don't understand why it won't work when the test email works ok.

Has anyone seen this before?

We had a similar issue and it turned out to be our Antivirus software was blocking the smtp messages. Our client was set to block outgoing smtp and labeled it as spamming. Have you checked that?
