Backup exec not getting full compression

Is the data identical on both machines? It is rare for you to get perfect 2:1 compression as several factor affect it. Text will compress much better than executable files will. Also, hardware compression is usually more effective than software.

If the machines have identical data you are in trouble. If not the compression works diffrerntly with different file types image and picture files do not compress as well as text files or data files. I am running 135 gigs a night and have to use 3 40/80 tapes.
