I have a Powervault 136T with 4 LTO drives connected via SCSI to a single backup server and am using BackupExec 8.6 with remote agents on the network servers I am backing up.

To speed things up, I am considering connecting up to the network via the SNC fibre/SCSI unit and I wondering what the Backup Exec software licensing implications are with this.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

You won't have to get anything else if the tape devices are directly connected to the backup server, whether it be via SCSI, fibre etc.

If the tape device is connected to a SAN switch however, you will need to purchase the Shared Storage Option license for this, and then install the option onto the backup server, add the license etc.
