Hi All,
Just thought that i'd post this so when someone googles the below error this may help in resolution!
{Took me much too long to figure this out, and Symantec support - even the escalation were also unable to do so! =) }
What I found was that the NTBackup exclusions set can/will impact BE.
I'm unsure whether one of my colleagues made changes to the NT exclusions, or whether these were 'historical' exclusions which somehow came into play with a BE update/hotfix..
In any case here is a symantec article explaining NTBackup exclusions impact on backup jobs:
Hot tip for the youg player! -- CHECK YOUR NTBACKUP EXCLUSIONS TO ENSURE THAT SOME BRIGHT SPARK HAS NOT EXCLUDED ENTIRE DRIVES - EG C:\*.*, E:\*.* ETC. - YOU GET THE PICTURE!!
- rather confusing in my instance is that this happened to two servers simultaneously.
Hope this Helps!!
Cheers - Chris.
