Backup Exec Design & Implmentation

When implementing BE, there are no real considerations. It works full stop.
It will backup almost anything and does it properly unlike certain other apps....
Implementing depends on your kit, OS, hardware and data size but I recommend:
Monday to Thursday: full backup, overwrite. Reuse each week.
Friday weeks 1 to 9: Used sequentially each Friday. Overwrite. Reuse every 10 weeks. Full backup.
Friday week 10: Used every 10th Friday. Full backup. Never reused.
Therefore you get to restore each day for a week, each week for 10 weeks and each 10 weeks forever.
If you can full backup each night it makes life easier than doing incrementals or differentials.
Consider your self saved.
