backup exec agent questions

Hi all

Ive got backup exec on the domain controller and exchange 2003 on another member server with BE Agent for Exchange installed and agent on Exchange server.

When I drill down into BAckup exec to try and select the exchange mailboxed on the remote agent i get prompted for a login to connect. no Domain login including admin works. Am i missing something here?

Have you tried the 'domain\username' style syntax for the username field?

I pressume that the account you are using has access to the mailstore?

Off the top of my head I can't remember the exact permissions required... thats going to bug me now!

You need to connect with the account you used to setup Exchange.
Or, use an account (Administrator) with enough (Exchange)rights to access all objects in the mailstore.

restrict anonymous support check box on Backup Exec and registry fix on both servers took care of this problem.

search veritas backup exec website for "anonymous" and it will take care of it.
