Backup exec 9.1 will not start jobs

Checked on Veritas site, jobs will not start they just become queued, when started manually by clicking run now or letting job kick off at schudled time. the server is not paused.

any ideas would be appericated

Check that the tape device isn't paused.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Is there a remaining *.lck file in the a backup folder from a previously failed backup?
