I am new to Backup Exec and am trying to Congure Backup Exec 9.1 service pack 3, to work with a Compaq Branded Sony SDX-700C. The device is correctly detected by Backup Exec as a Sony SDX-700C, but I can't write more than 100GB to the drive. This drive is AIT3 100/200GB and with compresion enabled I should be able to get more than 100GB. I am using the same drives else where with ARCserve 11.1, and am getting 200GB on a tape. I have phoned Symantec and they say it is a driver problem and I should speak to the drive vendor. Any ideas?

Do you have the latest drivers installed from Compaq? I have a regular Sony SDX-700C drive running normally here, but I've noticed Windows Update offering newer drivers.

There could be a conflict with the drivers BackupExec has and what is actually needed by the Compaq drive (they could have made some changes in branding).
