Backup Exec 9.0 - Status Cancel pending 1

I have cancelled an active job in job monitor which has a status of cancel pending. Documentation saya that the job must be cancelled to remove it to the lower screen.
Highlighting the job shows that the schedule can be put on hold but the cancel button is 'blued' out.
Question - how do I cancel a pending cancel job.

Stop and restart all the backupexec services. If you have a problem stopping the job engine service, try opening and closesing backup exec and that should stop it.
