Backup Exec 8.6 and Exchange 2k

I am running BackupExec on an hp lp2000r server, with windows 2k in native mode. My question is what would cause a full backup to be "cancelled" if no one cancelled it. The backup log states that the job was cancelled by the user. By the way it was trying to backup my information store. I also had another job scheduled later on that night which completed successfully (it was a remote servers system state). There are no entries in the event log, tried veritas's knowledge base...no answer. The job that was cancelled ran for about 9 mins and backed up 1.7gig. Any suggestions would help.

Is there any evidence in the logs that the server rebooted itself?

No the server has not been rebooted, or has rebooted itself.
