Backup Exec 8.5 Tape Drive Not Listed

BackupExec 8.5
Windows 2000 SP4
Adaptec SCSI 29160 Ultra160 SCSI Card
ECRIX-VXA-1 Tape Drive

Device manager shows both the SCSI card and Tape drive are installed correctly. When going into BackupExec the drive is not listed under Devices. When right clicking on "Stand-Alone Drives and attempting to add the drive, it doesn't appear in the selectable list.

I have rebooted the server multiple times and have installed the drivers from backupexec using tapeinst.exe

This doesn't seem to help, and I'm going on a week now without a proper tape backup. If anyone can help, please let me know.

If the device isn't listed at all in Device Manager (either under Tape Drives or Other Devices), then I think it's either a hardware problem or a Windows problem.
