Hi,
I'm currently running Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 on a Windows NT Server. The backups of the other NT servers and NT workstations works fine. However, I also backup some windows 2000 workstations on the nightly backup route. The backups seem to work fine, however, if you try and restore the files you get the following error in the backup log:
Warning: To fully restore a windows 2000 server or workstation, the restore operation MUST be performed by a windows 2000 backup server. Data loss can occur if the backup server is not running on a windows 2000 computer.
According to veritas this is down to the security settings that windows 2000 sets on the files. Is there anyway of getting around this and still use an NT server?
