I am trying to restore a database that is on SQL 2005 and get the error "The tail of the log for the database "databasename" has not been backed up. Use BACKUP LOG WITH NORECOVERY to backup the log if it contains work you do not want to lose. Use the WITH REPLACE or WITH STOPAT clause of the RESTORE statement to just overwrite the contents of the log."
I found something about this on the symantec website. It said to check the "Overwrite Existing Database" option in the Restore - Settings - Microsoft SQL. I do not have this option. My guess is because I am on version 10D.
Does anyone have a workaround or know of a setting that will do the same thing? Nothing seems obvious. I don't see anything about Replace or Stopat
Thanks a lot,
Diane
