I have a 2 drive / 16 slot AIT-4 Library running Veritas Backup Exec 10d.

When the Backup process runs it takes approx 70 hours to complete and verify. (1.5TB of data) It seems that during the backup process only one drive is being used, and for a fact during the verify process only one drive is being used. I thought that having two drives would allow the backup and the verify processes to access these resources. Is something maybe misconfigured?

Thanks!

Rick

It will only use one drive. Having two drive in the library just allows you to run two concurrent "seperate jobs". SO you may want to take your 1.5tb job and seperate it into to two jobs. Then let them run at the same time. This should reduce your backup windows.
