Hi guys,

I am used to Netbackup 5.1, so hoping you can help me here.

I need to create a generic account in Backup exec which anyone can use to login to Backup Exec, but still there own ID to logon to the server. Everything I try results in a "Access Denied" message.

I could create an ID relating to the user, but I understand the two accounts are not linked, so if the admin changes his Windows Password Backup Exec will stop working for him. Is this right? Then I would have to go in and match his ID again, which I don't want to do.

Your help is much apprecaited.

Graeme

Are you on AD? Users that are admins should have access to the servers. What we did was create a backup service account which ran BE. Run BE against that versus user accts.
