Howdy,

I have five lans which are connected together through a Linux VPN. Each lans have between 150 to 500 computers in them. There is an internal DNS Windows 2000 server to make W2K happy at each school. The real DNS server is a Linux gateway at each school. Will it screwup Active Directory if I add my Linux DNS server as a backup in DHCP. There would be two DNS servers in DHCP, the internal W2K and the external DNS Linux server.

Thanks!

It will work fine. Just make sure that you do not use Active Directory Integrated DNS zones. In addition, setup the tranfer and notify properties for each domain to include the IP address for the linux server.
