Backup DC

I need to setup a backup dc which will come into play if our PDC fails. can someone lokk at this link and let me know if I need to do both steps or just the second step.

You need to do the first one. You also need to setup DNS and other services for redundancy. This has been discussed many times here, and a search will yield all of the info you need.

BTW - No such thing as PDC & BDC in Windows 2000/2003
