Last night the server where our database backup files are stored went down so all my backups did not run last night and this morning. We are now in the middle of production hours and I can not run a full backup on the databases.
I am using SQL 2005. On most my databases I have a scheduled full backup done each night and/or early morning.
On the databases that I have a log backup already setup and going every hour I am thinking these are fine and can wait to/do the full backup later during off hours.
On the databases where I only have a full backup scheduled during off hours, I am thinking of setting up a differential backup now so at least I have the full from the previous night and then the difference.
Does this sound like a good idea?
Any other recommendations?
