BACKUP DATABASE

WHEN BEGINNING TO RUN A BACK UP AND "ALL USERS" MUST BE OFF THE SYSTEM....I TRY TO COMPLETE MY BACK UP BUT IT KEEPS TELLING ME THAT IT'S WAITING FOR 1 USER TO FINISH. THAT USER IS ME TRYING TO RUN THE BACKUP. I'VE TRIED BEING LOGGED IN AS MASTER, ADMIN ETC AND NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP.

The secret is to write in proper case

This can happen sometimes, e.g. when GoldMine is not shut properly.

You can check the users logged in from the User Settings screen. If it is showing users still logged in then log into GM as that user, then log them out.

or,

Just close the open files, apart from your own in Computer Manager within Control Panel | Administration Tools.

Additionally, you'll want to backup using conventional methods. those who have depende don the ntegrated GoldMine backup solution in the past have been sorely disappointed when it came time to try to RESTORE that data..
